Agatha Canggu Review: A Mindful Stay in Canggu

A mindful place to stay in the heart of Canggu.

🌿 My Stay at AGATHA, Canggu

First Impressions
I stayed at AGATHA in Canggu for 7 days, and honestly, it turned out to be such a pleasant surprise for the price. The rooms are spacious, clean, and the overall vibe is super peaceful. It’s one of those places that makes you feel like you’ve found a hidden gem.

The Stay Experience

  • Big and comfy rooms — honestly, for the same price you’d pay at a hostel, you can get a private room here. If you’re not in the mood for hostel vibes, this is a great deal.

  • Polite staff and great cleanliness standards.

  • Shared kitchen and a nice pool.

  • Wi-Fi is stable enough for work, calls, or just Netflix.

  • Air-conditioning works perfectly.

  • Plenty of parking space for scooters.

  • Extra touches like a hair dryer (rare for this price), a laundry bag, and a drying rack for clothes.

One thing I personally felt? The room could’ve had one extra light — I love bright rooms. But with the big glass doors and natural light, it’s not really a deal-breaker.

Special Spots Around the Villa

  • There’s a little outside table with two chairs — I literally wrote this review there while hearing birds chirp and chickens running around the neighborhood. It’s a peaceful, authentic Bali vibe.

  • Above the kitchen, there’s a big table with chairs — perfect if you want fresh air, take calls, or just chill with your drink.

Location
The best part of AGATHA is definitely the location. It’s right in the middle of everything:

  • Canggu Beach, Old Man’s, Mexicola — just a few minutes away.

  • Cafes, pilates studios, gyms, and vegan spots are within 1–1.5 km.

  • A pharmacy store nearby for convenience.

It’s central but not noisy — the villa is on a side street, so you get the best of both worlds.

Service & Facilities
There’s no fixed reception desk, but staff are always around. If you need anything in your room or bathroom, just ask the boys who are usually outside cleaning, or message your host through the app — they’ll sort it out quickly. The bathrooms are big, with both hot and cold water available all day.

Overall Rating
For me, this is a 9/10 stay — it’s peaceful, central, budget-friendly, and offers way more comfort than you’d expect for the price. Definitely a place I’d rebook when I return to Bali.
